Little Miss Sunshine Award!

I've just won my first blog award! When Victoria at slightly shabby left me the comment that she like my blog I was so excited! I don't consider myself to be very computer savvy, so it's an honor for me when people enjoy my blog. Thanks Victoria! Part of the rules of accepting the award is to give it out to 12 other blogs, but I decided to do like Victoria and start with only 5 (which is alot more manageable). Here's a few really great blogs, If you don't accept tags or awards I understand....(smile) I think everyone should check these out anyway, they are REALLY inspirational.

Here are the blogs that I chose and the rules:
Jam n Jilly
A Little Loveliness with Melissa Lester
Ruffles and Stuff
Decor to Adore
Edie Marie's Attic

Here are the Sunshine award rules:

1. Put the logo in your post and mention where it came from.

2. Pass the award onto 12 bloggers of your choice.

3. Link the nominee's within your post.

4. Leave your nominee's a comment letting them know they received the award.

5. Spread the sunshine and link to the person who gave you the award.

Show and Tell Friday: Just Because

It's Show and Tell Friday at Cindy's and this week I'm showing the beautiful flowers my Hubby brought me "Just Because". Don't you love that?! After 8 1/2 years of marriage, I think it's EXTRA special for him to be this thoughtful.
I LOVE the colors, so Bright and cheerful!

I purchased this vase several years ago around Easter(my Favorite Holiday)
The colors match perfectly

Show and tell Friday: My pretty Hobby

So it's Friday and it's already been a busy day, SO busy that I'm just now posting about my pretty little hobby: Soap making. Yes, I 'm one of those Dear Reader. One of what? you may ask. One of those people who LOVE to try a new craft simply because it's fun. I was having a bath (a favorite way to relax) and thought "How great would it be to make my own products?". To my surprise, I could! These little Soaps are my first venture. How I wish you could smell them through the computer! giggle.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to take a peek at Cindy's Romantic home to see what the other ladies are doing!

One busy Mom

I'm sorry it's been so long, I have missed you  dear readers! I have been extremely busy these last few weeks, but with good  things. My youngest son, Zion, Has officially started school! and Micah is now a soccer player and the winner of the pine derby race for his Boyscout division! Now he's considered the Leader of the pack, which is really cool considering the fact that he's the smallest guy there and one of  the youngest. His car wasn't as elaborate as some of the others, but boy was it fast! smile...

(he's the one on the end with the red and blue coat, and the "surprised facial expression(smile)

Who's the Man! (This is the cutest AND the funniest pic ever! giggle)

and later that day onto soccer!

Running with ball

Great stop Micah!

Despite the FREEZING weather, He played like a Champ!

I have to say, this weekend was Super busy, but SO much fun. I was SO proud of Micah. Not only for winning, but for the way he won. He didn't boast or brag, he came home as if nothing had happened at all. He was more concerned for his friends feelings(some of them didn't take losing that well) then he was winning. His confident, yet casual and humble attitude made me rethink things. As a Mom, we're SO prepared sometimes to hug and wipe away tears if our child is dissappointed, but how  well do we handle their success? Micah was so mature about it. Don't get me wrong, he was excited, but he carried it off in such a great way. On the way to soccer practice I asked him "How do you feel being a winner"? and he said "Good, but I just hope my friends don't feel bad, and that they win too". How great is that? How often are we concerned about the feelings of others when God gives us something we REALLY want? I was humbled by his answer. What a great kid! He gets to compete at district in a few weeks and only God knows if he'll win, but to me, he already has a heart of a Champ....and that Dear readers, is a Lovely thought!
Next week I'll have great pics of my other little heart-stealer, Zion, and his first days of school.
