This is the Foutain of a church that I would pass by daily on my way to work. I love the craftsmanship (the adorable little girl playing there while I took the shot was a bonus)

This is the front garden of the same church. Isn't this tree Breathtaking? SO inspirational

A crowd gathers to watch to Tin man dance (wonder if he does JAZZ hands, tee hee!)

Enough time for one more Glamour shot before I leave. I loved the staircase at the hotel, so Old Hollywood (I'm ready for my close up Mr. DeMille, Tee hee)

My OWN City of Lights.....It's not Paris, but as you can see, it's easy to fall in Love...

My kind of Town...Chicago is!!!!

Here I am Dear readers, writing about a vacation that I took.... in April! April? Yes, I know it's August, but this year just keeps getting by me for some reason (I honestly think time has gym shoes on, giggle). Well here is the AMAZING mommy vacation I spent in my hometown (Chicago) I had not been home for leisure in almost 4 years (gasp) Since I moved to Georgia. Needless to say, it was WAY overdue, and Super fun!!! Here's a few shots..

I ordered a king, but ended up with these beauties instead. Two beds that I don't have to make, yay!

Enough time to catch up with the girls (That's me on the far end) We've been friends since High school, Love' em like sisters!
You're probably tired from all of that shopping! so let's stop at Bloomingdales for a little rest

I don't know about you, but I think Bloomies is always a good place to stop. More eyecandy tomorrow(literally, giggle) Why not take time to plan your dream vacation. Where would you go? What would you wear? What restuarants would you try? Taking the time to plan is one more step closer....Just a thought, but a Lovely one.

Little Miss Sunshine Award!

I've just won my first blog award! When Victoria at slightly shabby left me the comment that she like my blog I was so excited! I don't consider myself to be very computer savvy, so it's an honor for me when people enjoy my blog. Thanks Victoria! Part of the rules of accepting the award is to give it out to 12 other blogs, but I decided to do like Victoria and start with only 5 (which is alot more manageable). Here's a few really great blogs, If you don't accept tags or awards I understand....(smile) I think everyone should check these out anyway, they are REALLY inspirational.

Here are the blogs that I chose and the rules:
Jam n Jilly
A Little Loveliness with Melissa Lester
Ruffles and Stuff
Decor to Adore
Edie Marie's Attic

Here are the Sunshine award rules:

1. Put the logo in your post and mention where it came from.

2. Pass the award onto 12 bloggers of your choice.

3. Link the nominee's within your post.

4. Leave your nominee's a comment letting them know they received the award.

5. Spread the sunshine and link to the person who gave you the award.

Show and tell Friday: My pretty Hobby

So it's Friday and it's already been a busy day, SO busy that I'm just now posting about my pretty little hobby: Soap making. Yes, I 'm one of those Dear Reader. One of what? you may ask. One of those people who LOVE to try a new craft simply because it's fun. I was having a bath (a favorite way to relax) and thought "How great would it be to make my own products?". To my surprise, I could! These little Soaps are my first venture. How I wish you could smell them through the computer! giggle.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to take a peek at Cindy's Romantic home to see what the other ladies are doing!

One busy Mom

I'm sorry it's been so long, I have missed you  dear readers! I have been extremely busy these last few weeks, but with good  things. My youngest son, Zion, Has officially started school! and Micah is now a soccer player and the winner of the pine derby race for his Boyscout division! Now he's considered the Leader of the pack, which is really cool considering the fact that he's the smallest guy there and one of  the youngest. His car wasn't as elaborate as some of the others, but boy was it fast! smile...
The boys waiting for the race to begin

Proud Daddy and Micah with the winning car They built together

A close-up  of the car

Micah jumping up as his car races to the finish line
(he's the one on the end with the red and blue coat, and the "surprised facial expression(smile)

Who's the Man! (This is the cutest AND the funniest pic ever! giggle)

and later that day onto soccer!

Running with ball

Great stop Micah!

Despite the FREEZING weather, He played like a Champ!

I have to say, this weekend was Super busy, but SO much fun. I was SO proud of Micah. Not only for winning, but for the way he won. He didn't boast or brag, he came home as if nothing had happened at all. He was more concerned for his friends feelings(some of them didn't take losing that well) then he was winning. His confident, yet casual and humble attitude made me rethink things. As a Mom, we're SO prepared sometimes to hug and wipe away tears if our child is dissappointed, but how  well do we handle their success? Micah was so mature about it. Don't get me wrong, he was excited, but he carried it off in such a great way. On the way to soccer practice I asked him "How do you feel being a winner"? and he said "Good, but I just hope my friends don't feel bad, and that they win too". How great is that? How often are we concerned about the feelings of others when God gives us something we REALLY want? I was humbled by his answer. What a great kid! He gets to compete at district in a few weeks and only God knows if he'll win, but to me, he already has a heart of a Champ....and that Dear readers, is a Lovely thought!
Next week I'll have great pics of my other little heart-stealer, Zion, and his first days of school.

Moms should know

We all love receiving good tips. Whether it's about hair and makeup, a good book, or a great vacation spot, people like being in the know. So, I decided to create this section for moms called "Moms should know". It's just my suggestion of great things that I love that I think you might like too! There's all kinds of cute and cool things on the market that I wish someone would have told me about. Today's "Moms should Know" is about a great dvd personality that my kids absolutely LOVE but few moms have heard of. If you have toddlers-1st graders, then Miss Patty cake is for you! I had seen her videos in Lifeway stores, but was always got distracted. Then one day during an after Christmas sale I saw it for half off and I'm SO glad I bought it! Miss Pattycake is a mixture of a modern-day Mary Poppins meets Raggedy Ann with songs and stories that kids LOVE. Both of my sons learned all of the songs and the lessons that she teaches are as fun as they are relevant. You just have to try her link for yourself. I love finding new things for my kids and this was a win/win. It would be especially good for a Sunday school or Pre-K class.Through entertainment, you can pretty much teach your children anything.....Just a thought, but a Lovely one.

Show and Tell Friday: My Valentine

It's that time of year: Valentine's is upon us! I must say that I love this time of year and find all sorts of ways to celebrate. Usually the boys send cards to the grandparents, and I call up ALL of my friends and wish them happy valentines day. Of course the Hubby and I spend quality time, but through the years that he and to work, or we couldn't find a sitter, we enjoyed spending the day with the kids. My parents always made us feel special. My dad was still buying me giant cards and chocolate hearts bigger than me when I was in college! That showed me that how you can make it a special day for anyone. It's a Love day for all. Anywhoo, this week I'll show you guys my pink tree! Gosh, I love it. Pink AND hearts, how could you not love that combination? Most of the decorations I bought from Hobby Lobby and walmart, but I purchased the tree from Big Lots after Christmas. Thanks to Cindy's Show and Tell Fridays. Make sure to check out what all of the other Ladies are doing. Have a  Great V-day weekend, and remember God is love and that's something EVERYONE can celebrate!

*I tried to post this on show and tell last week, but accidently entered my link in the wrong way.Hope you ladies don't mind  a little pink  tree, even if it is late. Have a great day!
